Lucas Bombardier named Warrior Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (October 23, 2018) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Lucas Bombardier of the Knoxville Ice Bears is the Warrior Player of the Week for October 19-21.

Bombardier scored three goals, including one game-winner, added one assist and was +3 as the Ice Bears took three of a possible four points to open the 2018-2019 season.

On Friday, the Pittsford, VT native led Knoxville to a 5-4 come-from-behind win over Evansville. Trailing 4-2 with 10 minutes remaining, Bombardier scored the  first of two Knoxville goals just 41 seconds apart. Then tied at four, Bombardier scored the game-winner on a breakaway with 55 seconds remaining in regulation. The following night, Bombardier scored once in a 4-3 overtime loss to Roanoke.

Last year, Bombardier played 20 games (regular season and playoffs) for Knoxville after his senior season at Trine University (Angola, IN), where he was named to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) All-Academic Team.
