Local hockey player, Cole Burkhalter has been nationally recognized as the inaugural winner of the Brendon Burke Internship.  The nationally competed for internship announcement was made on Aug. 23, 2010.  Roots of a connection between Cole and the Ice Bears date back to the mid-90's when a young Cole participated in Ice Bears' GM Mike Murray's youth hockey school while Murray was a player with the Cherokees.  More recently Cole served as an assistant at the Knoxville Ice Bears Youth Hockey Camp from 2006-2009.  To read more about Cole and the internship click here.
