Olympic Ice Bear
date: 12/31/2009Knoxville, TN - Former Knoxville Ice Bear Ervins Mustukovs has been named to the 2010 Latvian Olympic Roster. Mustukovs has spent a portion of two seasons 14 games in 2006-2007 and 19 games in 2007-2008. Both seasons with the Ice Bears saw the Latvian net minder called up to the ECHL, where he finished the season.
Ervins will join two Latvian NHL players, Karlis Skrastins (former Nashville Predator) of the Dallas Stars and Oskars Bartulis from the Philadelphia Flyers as the enter the tournament as a long shot to medal. To advance to the medal round Latvia must go through power house Russia that boast a line that include Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin and Ilya Kolvalchuk.
